We are delighted to announce that our Executive Director, Nicole Barnes, has assumed the role of Board Chair for the Louisiana Association of Affordable Housing Providers (LAAHP). LAAHP is a non-profit organization committed to advocating for laws, legislation, and programs essential for the development and enhancement of a sustainable affordable housing inventory in Louisiana. LAAHP’s membership encompasses a diverse range of individuals and entities, including non-profit developers, for-profit developers, lenders, management companies, market analysts, accountants, lawyers, and financial advisors. LAAHP strives to advance the common interests of its members in the affordable housing industry through effective communication and conferences.
Ms. Barnes will lead a board that represents the multitude of perspectives influencing the state’s production and sustainability of affordable housing in Louisiana. Ms. Barnes, with almost 30 years of experience in the housing and community development sector, expressed her enthusiasm for contributing to policy development and addressing the needs of low-to-moderate-income individuals and families. She stated, “I welcome the opportunity to lend my voice and experience to the challenges faced by working families, and I have a deep passion for serving low-income families, gaining a profound understanding of the myriad housing issues they encounter throughout my career.”
